We fear the fear itself. It’s the anticipation of something going wrong, the dread of that moment when fear takes over our body. We dread our racing heart, the beads of sweat, and the judgment of others when these symptoms emerge.

Understand that this is the reason for anxiety. Fear of the “what if” questions we internally & subconsciously ask ourselves is the reason for the initial fear. Accept the outcome of the fear to heal.

Answer the “what if” questions with… “and….”

For example: I went out to eat with my husband a few weeks ago and the uneasy nausea feeling of anxiety overcame me. Immediately my mind went to “omg what if I throw up right here in the middle of this fancy restaurant?” The nausea got worse. I stopped and said “and…then I throw up- big deal. The servers will be more nervous than me in this moment because they are going to think their food caused the vomit” and guess what happened? I started laughing. LAUGHING because of how ridiculous it sounded and soon, the nausea went away because I ACCEPTED the outcome.
